In 1998 the Choir was asked by one of our choristers, Ted Burgess,  if we would help to launch  South African basso profundo Charles Ng'Andwe  in the UK.  Ted and Charles were both members of the congregation of St Mark's Church May Bank in Newcastle under Lyme.

Newcastle engaged  Charles for a sequence of sell -out concerts that year and were so convinced by his talent that we recommeded him to the National Association of Choirs as a having a voice "with a timbre of rich mellifluence matching a warm interpretative quality."

Charles moved to Manchester soon after and we heard little of his progress until his appearance on ITV's Stars in Their Eyes where he performed as Paul Robeson singing Old Man River.  .We were thrilled when Charles won his heat and then The Grand Final and we wish him even greater success in the future.

The  Choir  have also appeared as guests  of many bands including several appearances with Central Army Band of the White Russian Army Led  by Chief of Military Band Service Colonel Mikhail Bersan and Chief Conductor; Lt. Col. Alexander Federov who enthral audiences with a combination of high musical talent and a hugely entertainment repertoire.
